Award Details
Designed to recognize and encourage exceptional international students applying directly from high school, a total of three scholarships will be awarded to direct entry students entering the University of Manitoba in September 2027. These awards will be offered to international undergraduate students who combine outstanding leadership potential with academic giftedness.
One award valued $25,000 will be offered to a student who has:
- achieved a minimum admission average of 90% across five of the following senior level high school courses: Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Sciences, English, First Language Literature, Geography, History, Music and Visual Arts.
- completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by December 1st, including payment of application fee.
- demonstrated strong leadership qualities and sustained meaningful community involvement.
Two awards each valued at $10,000 will be offered to students who have:
- achieved the minimum admission requirements for University 1 or any faculty, college or school at the University of Manitoba with a direct entry option.
- completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by December 1st, including payment of application fee.
- demonstrated strong leadership qualities and sustained, meaningful community involvement.
Short-listed applicants will be ranked into first, second and third place based on the results from the award application and the admissions application.
Applications are not considered received until the application is submitted and the non-refundable application fee has been paid by the posted deadline.

Referees cannot be family members. The onus is on the applicant to ensure referee information is correct and recommendation forms are received by the deadline stipulated. References are collected in the strictest of confidence and will not be released to the applicant.
A. Notification of Decision
Once a decision has been made, all applicants will receive an email notifying them to log into their application portal to view the decision. Students that are offered admission will be required to confirm their acceptance. If you do not accept the offer by the deadline date indicated in the letter, your offer will lapse. It is imperative that your email account remains current and that you check it regularly or arrange for someone to check it in your absence.
