Where We First Stand Transition Camp

The Indigenous Student Recruitment + Community Relations team is pleased to offer a new transition camp for rural and northern Indigenous students who are relocating to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba for Fall 2024.

Where We First Stand Transition Camp is a week-long program where students will live on campus and become familiar with the services, supports and Indigenous community campus before they start classes in September. Students will also learn about skills for living in the city, such as living independently, adjusting to new transportation methods, and creating a monthly budget.

There are a limited number of spots available for Where We Stand Transition Camp. Selected applicants will be notified in April 2024.

In order for your application to be considered, you must submit an application to the University of Manitoba.

    Dates: July 21 - 27, 2024

There is no cost to attend this program. Meals and accommodation will be provided. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to attend the program.

    Applications open: October 1, 2023

    Application deadline: April 1, 2024
